Ferrite magnet

What is a Permanent Ferrite Magnet

Permanent ferrite magnets are made from a composite material of ferrite, an iron oxide combined with elements such as strontium or barium. These magnets are produced by pressing and sintering the powder material at high temperatures. This manufacturing method gives ferrite magnets their unique magnetic properties.

Characteristics of Permanent Ferrite Magnets

Corrosion resistance: Ferrite magnets are corrosion-resistant, making them suitable for use in humid environments or exposed to harsh outdoor conditions.

Thermal stability: They offer good thermal stability, which means that they retain their magnetic properties over a wide range of temperatures.

Affordable Price: Ferrite magnets are economical compared to other types of magnets, making them an attractive choice for many applications.

High coercivity: They have a high magnetic capacity , which means that they require a significant magnetic force to demagnetize them, making them suitable for applications requiring long-term magnetic retention.

Ferrite magnet manufacturing

Calcination Furnace

Iron oxide and strontium carbonate react together in a rotary kiln at 1250° C.

Material shredder

Successive grinding in the solid and liquid phase to obtain an adequate particle size.

Press

The compression of the paste product under magnetic field in large tools of 10 to 40 cavities makes it possible to obtain so-called « green » magnets (density about 3).

Sintering furnace

A firing operation at 1250° C in passage or roller furnaces allowing the green magnet to be completed by obtaining hardness (density about 4.8) and magnetic potential.

Grinder

Allows  the finishing of the magnet to precise dimensions in order to insert it later into the final assembly (motor, etc.). This operation is done continuously by pushing the pieces between diament-grained wheels (natural or synthetic).

3D dimentional control

Automatic dimentional control to garanty high quality

All dimensional measurements are carried out on CMM. This makes it possible to measure all dimensions with high precision (radius, thickness, length, width, etc.) as well as all shape defects (symmetry, straightness, perpendicular, etc.). All key parameters are monitored by SPC (Statistical Process Control).

Robograph

Automatic dimentional control to garanty high quality

The magnetic flux and the demagnetization resistance are controlled directly on the magnets to ensure the good working of the motors. We use a ROBOAGRAPH (http://www.eckelgbr.com/)
